As of October 11, mortgage brokers are subject to federal anti-money laundering legislation. These new obligations require brokers to conduct due diligence on their clients, keep records of financial transactions, and report certain types of transactions to FINTRAC, the federal anti-money laundering regulator. FINTRAC has the power to examine mortgage brokers to test their compliance with anti-money laundering obligations and impose penalties for non-compliance. Join us on April 30, 2025 for an in-person presentation from anti-money laundering expert Adam Feldman, a Principal at The AML Shop and Robert DeRose, Insurance Risk Advisor at PROLINK Insurance.
During the presentation you will learn about:
- FINTRAC expectations for a compliance program
- How to conduct due diligence on your clients
- When to report transactions to FINTRAC
- Penalties for non-compliance
- How insurance can protect your firm against these evolving regulatory compliance risks
Stay on FINTRAC’s good side and be sure to attend this not to be missed session!
